Setting Up Your Canvas

Start by working on a simple canvas of your choice, as if you are creating a regular illustration rather than an animation.

A little example

Draw your Sketch

I draw everything on a regular layer. For the animation, I keep it simple and write down all the actions I want to add later to my illustration. As you can see, I drew the same face and only changed the eyes since that’s my main action

as you can see i kept everything the same exept the pupils and his eye brown moving , i try to cut the action into 3 main mouvements this way it’s easy to draw and animate later .

Lineart and Flat colors

I start by drawing the line art as I usually do, without including the movements, since we’ll add those later in a separate animation folder.

It's up to you how you want to color it; for this piece, I chose to keep it simple.

Eyes Mouvement

Click window then timeline (x) , you animation timeline will pop up , this is where we will draw the mouvement .

Click on New animation Folder

On a new animation folder i add my animations cels and draw the eyes only .

Merge everything together

Now i’ll color my animation layer as well, on a new animaton folder once again you color on your animation cells

The blue being my lineart and green my colors
