Hi!

Welcome to this new tutorial,

this time we are going to learn how to make some jewelry and accessories.

We will work with jewelry, characteristic of Huichol crafts.

We believe that when making jewelry you just have to make glitters everywhere and gradients but no.

Let's observe how the light falls from one place and what I call the jewel's “eye” is created, which is a reflection or a hard shadow. Although we experiment with different shapes, it will always remain: The light, the hard shadow and the gradient of the base color.

In the golden pieces it is repeated: Base color, excess hard and light.

Bisutería.

We will use what we have learned in the "canutillos", the same structure is repeated: Base color, hard leftover and light.

In the same way with the "chaquira"; small round stones where a thread goes through.

Brushes. Elements for illustration.

First the canutillo.

1.- We will repeat the elements.

2.- Base color.

3.- Hard shadow.

4.- Light.

With the bead we do the same around the hole.

Gold Brush.

With the gold effect we will use the Get Screen Color tool to have the colors more similar to reality.

Along the inverted C we will place the colors obtained.

Base color, strong shadows, harsh shadows and highlights.

Configure brushes.

Now we are going to create the brushes with the elements that we have created.

1.- Do not forget that in the layer property we will select Grays so that the brush will be colored with the chosen colors.

2 .- We will register as material.

3.- Place with a simple name.

4.- Click on Use as a brush shape.

5.- Choose the location and Accept.

We go to brush Sub tool, we choose the brush closest to what we want and duplicate.

We are located in the Property tab of the tool and in the key we will click, we go to Brush Tip and we display the options, we look for the name with which we recently saved the tip and we will modify the stroke properties so that the elements and angle are close to follow the direction of the line.

We repeat the operation with the bead. I duplicate the canutillo brush and change the tip for the bead.

For the gold brush, we will leave the layer property as color since I want it to remain as it is, however since the brush does not have an internal smoothing effect, I will use the blur brush to soften the brush strokes.

We repeat the steps. We experiment.

We have finished the main elements of the illustration. Let's go to the next part to see how it is used.

Applications.

In this second part we will use the brushes that we have created.

Huichol art is characterized by these small colorful and symmetrical glass stones resembling flowers.

This work is done by hand, sewing stone by stone, so we will do something similar with our brushes. Do not forget to capture references to create your pieces.

A very representative element of indigenous artisan clothing is the repetitive patterns. In this case I wanted a belt so I created two more brushes. A fretwork for the ends and dot patterns for the interior and a contrasting black background.

And voila, we have finished our jewelry, which does not lack the elements of brilliance and beauty of real jewelry because it is fake.

Thanks for your attention!
