Hello here is a little tutorial to learn how to modify your workspace, change the color of the interface, share your work or use the pose scanner.

I work with Clip Studio Paint Ex on Ipad Pro with a first generation Apple Pencil stylus.

Bases

Here are some basics and the name of the tools present on the basic interface of Clip Studio Paint (below)

A: shown in green. These are the tools. This is where you will find all your brushes, brushes, text, rulers, airbrush, anything that will allow you to draw.

B: shown in blue. There, you have the quick access, the secondary tools and their properties, the chromatic disc, all the colors, the layers and their properties as well as the materials, everything that approaches the technique of digital drawing.

C: represented in pink, we have the menu bar, there are shortcut tools that will allow you to save your work without having to click on file save as, to access the clip studio site, to the help page, to select your work, etc ...

D: the more complete menu bar, there is access to recordings, import, export, layers, filters, window, etc.

To have access to your workspaces, click on window in the complete menu bar.

To access the workspace, go to Window - Workspace.

A: restore default settings

B: save workspace (This is when you like your new workspace, you can save it and thus easily switch between more workspaces depending on the work you want to do. BD- Animation-, illustration)

C: save workspace as material (if you then want to share your workspace in clip studio assets)

By clicking with your stylus on the outer edges of a rectangle (the edge) and dragging it either to the left or to the right you will make your windows larger or smaller.

A: the toolbar

B: quick access

C: secondary tools and their properties

D: the chromatic disc, the set of colors, etc ...

E: materials

Red: this is the menu bar shortcut.

Blue: this tool enables or disables recognition of the finger as a stylus.

Violet: by clicking on the clip studio paint logo, a new CLIP STUDIO page opens. You will have access to your works, your materials and clip studio paint features such as Clip studio Assets, clip studio Ask, clip studio Tips, clip studio share as well as news and recommendations.

Want to go back to your workspace? Click on return to paint.

rose: open a new canvas, a new project

Red: open a project in your icloud drive or in your ipad

Brown: save your current project.

Yellow: save your work as JPG, PNG or PSD

Light Green: Colors your layer according to the color chosen in your color wheel.

Dark green: selects your layer, allowing you to change dimensions, perspective, flip your layer vertically or horizontally.

Black: opens the clip studio paint internet window

Gray: opens the assistant's internet window. (the support service)

Change interface color

You can choose between two interface colors.

Click on the Clip studio paint logo at the top left.

Go to preferences.

A new page opens, in the interface, you can choose between a light color and a dark color and adjust the density according to your preference.

You can also change the cursor, gender of your 3D characters, their color and other settings in the preferences window.

Move items

To reorganize your workspace, you will have to move certain elements, to be clicked on the small window of your tool and with your stylus while remaining pressed, drag your element to the place you want.

GIF:

1: click on the rectangle of your tool

2: Drag it to the desired location. A red element surrounded by two dark gray bars appears when you arrive at a location where movement is authorized

3: release your stylus, your new tool to change places. In the image, I moved my layers and their property and put the materials to the side. (I can minimize this window and open it as needed by clicking on the gray arrow on the top.)

GIF:

I repeat the maneuver on the left of my interface with the tools and secondary tools.

Delete items / access hidden items

When I work I don't use all the features of Clip Studio Paint in order to have a clear and concise workspace, I decide to remove or rather hide what I don't use regularly. I'll make a workspace for the illustration.

To do this click on the rectangle of your tool, move it with your stylus outside of its location, a cross will appear, click on it.

Ps: tools are never deleted, no worries, you can make them reappear as needed.

GIF:

1: click on the rectangle of your tool

2: slide it to the side.

3: click on the small cross.

If you want to reactivate a function, click on window.

Where there are V acronyms this is what is visible. Click on a function where it is not present and it will appear on your workspace, you can also do the opposite. Use this window to hide functions you don't need.

access settings

To access the settings for a tool such as a feather, touch the tool with your finger.

You will thus have a number of functions such as renaming, changing the icon, restoring default settings, etc.

Result of my workspace

Here is the result of my workspace, visually I have all the tools I use at hand and they are placed so that I can find them easily.

A: I exclusively use the color wheel to choose my colors, so I removed all other color related elements from my workspace.

B: the tools, I modified the location of certain tools according to their use, by putting those used more often next to each other so that I don't have to look for them.

C: secondary tool under the tools, all the tool functions are therefore gathered on the same side and I find this arrangement more practical for working.

D: I put the tool properties under the secondary tool and I hid the brush size and details of the secondary tool, because I am using the cursor present in the properties and the click of my finger to bring up the brush details tool.

E: the Materials are next to the right sidebar and I have separated them from the navigation and the layers because using these features less I can hide it with the arrow while having in view the layers and layer properties.

F: Navigation allows you to have an overview of my drawing.

G: the layer properties allow you to put a border, detect the line, put screens or even color your layer.

H: the automatic actions that I use regularly.

I: the layers.

Data sharing

Data sharing allows you to easily share your works on a social network or on your tablet or on a computer.

To access quick data sharing

-File - Quick Share

To share my work on my computer, I go to air drop. To do this, the Bluetooth of your computer and your tablet must be activated.

You can also share your work with an instagram account or other social networks.

Or save your work in shared folders on the icloud drive to have access on all your devices or on your tablet.

poses scanner

The pose scanner allows you to extract the pose of a 3D model photograph.

To access this function:

File - Import - Exposure scanner (image) ...

Exposure scanner (camera) ...

Exposure scanner (photo library) ...

Tip: if you want to use the Pose scanner with the camera, but you only have a black background, don't panic, we can fix this problem which is not really a problem.

It is a small concern of settings.

Go to the settings of your iPad.

Clip studio paint, as you can see the camera icon is disabled, just turn it on and it should work.

If you have multiple body shapes in your Clip Studio, your Clip Studio will ask you to choose the shape that best suits your character.

Below: a body shape panel to download to diversify your characters.

Here is an example with a photo of me from when I was little.

The pose is realistic, but a few small elements different, you just have to move a few elements like the pose of the hands and legs manually and you will obtain a pose identical to your photograph
