Welcome

Hi folks, here you will learn how to draw a kite in 11 steps.

If you want, you can watch the video or if you did not understand something in the video, you can read the text here.

I hope you enjoy watching and learning.

ATTENTION: You will not learn to draw kites right away, because you have to practice drawing several times before you can!

STEP 1: FORMES

There are thousands of shapes: two legged, four legged, two winged, four winged, worm-shaped, and many others you can think of. I have four options for you, you can choose one of them:

My choice is shape number 1.

BY THE WAY: If you don't like these shapes, you are welcome to choose one of these four:

So you have many options for a shape. Now don't forget to take notes (no matter where, as long as you have them), because you will need them for the last step.

STEP 2: HEAD

I have 4 different head shapes again and you can choose one of them: snake head, eagle head, crocodile head or pelican head.

This is your choice.

My choice is the snake head.

STEP 3: LEGS

Again I have 4 options:

Bird leg, lion leg, insect leg or T-rex leg.

My decision is the lion's leg.

Tip: If you want, you can combine two different leg shapes as shown in this illustration:

STEP 4: EYES

Here I have 4 types of eyes that you will definitely like. Pick one AND don't forget to take notes.

These are the eyes: snake eyes, cute eyes, human eyes and eyes without pupils.

My choice is the eye without pupils.

STEP 5: WINGS

Do you want a mighty dragon with splendid wings?

This is not a problem at all, because here you have the choice of 3 wings. As with the legs, if you want, you could combine several styles together.

Here the wings: bat wings, bird wings and broken wings.

If you want, you can also not make wings, because as you know there are dragons without wings, as well as drakes, wyrms and serpent dragons.

My choice is the bat wing.

STEP 6: SKIN FLAKES

Here I have, as always, 4 options that you can choose one (or several, if you like to combine 2 options).

Here are the options: Fish skin flakes, feathers, warts and fur

My choice is the fur.

And don't forget the notes!

This is what they look like when you draw with the pen.

And this is how you paint them with a brush.

I mostly use the brush for sketching. But in this case I use them for the scales

I used the G-Pen for the scales, I use this pen the most, but I also use the Real G-Pen for drawing. Your choice of pens is unlimited! But we’ll get to painting. First of all, take the notes you need.

STEP 7: ADDS

Adds are horns, whiskers, spines, carapaces, fins and many others! Here you have enough options for which you can choose without my help. But if you still don't come across any good ideas, then I have four options for you:

Decide on one or more, that is your decision alone.

My decision is the adds ideas 1 and 2.

Here are some horn ideas in case you're not sure.

STEP 8: FLOAT

How will your dragon be in a mood and in what pose will it appear in the picture?

Perhaps your dragon is very proud of something and sits majestically on its hind legs.

Or he stands, absent-minded in his thoughts.

Or he had a race with his friends and lies down for a while to rest.

One possibility would be that your kite just wants to fly high in the sky to part with its thoughts.

You see, there are many options! It's easier if you first invent a short short story, nobody has to know, but you do.

Then you have something to tell your friends, don't you?

Here are the poses.

My choice is the booth: number 2.

And here are a few other options:

Aggressive Die Pose

Is your dragon unhappy with something or just had a bad day?

The playful pose

Maybe your dragon wants to play or did he experience something nice and doesn't even know how to tell you?

The sleeping pose

Has your dragon got tired from the long day or is he a dreamer?

The happy flying pose

Did the kite notice or discover something beautiful while flying and did it make him happy?

The sad flying pose

Is your dragon sad about something and wants to be alone or has someone hurt him and wants to think about it alone?

THERE ARE JUST MUCH TOO MUCH POSSIBILITIES ...

STEP 9: COLOR

Now let's make our kite colorful! It is completely your choice how and where in which color you paint it, but here are the ideas again:

My choice is combination 2, but as I said, you can color your kite yourself.

STEP 10: PLACES (NOT REQUIRED)

If you just want to draw the dragon then you can skip this step. After all, this is a DRAGON TUTORIAL!

But here are the ideas again (don't forget to use the combination technique):

1: volcanic cave

2: Tundra and co.

3: old forest

4: Above the clouds

My choice are the 2 and the 3, so a snow forest or just a forest in winter.

STEP 11: DRAW (LAST STEP!)

So now comes the all-important question: do you have the notes? If not then take a quick look at what's available and write or memorize it quickly! I don't like to wait, you know?

Joke, you can take another look at everything and think about it! ; D

Here are my notes:

Shape: 1

Head: snake

Legs: lions

Eyes: Without pupils

Wing: bat

Dandruff: fur

Adds: 1 & 2

Pose: Stand

Coloring: 2 (light blue & dark blue)

Location: Snow-covered forest

Here is the result. (You can see how I drew it in the YouTube video, at the top)

You see: it's not difficult, yes, it can't work the first time, but maybe the next or the next or the hundredth time! It's not a problem, it just depends on the order and technique.

That was my tip, which I was happy to share with you all and I hope you learned something from it!

BY THE WAY: How to sketch the individual body parts step by step, draw and then add them to the body, you can see in the YouTube video, at the top!

ALSO: I wrote the original text in German. So don't worry if it's translated incorrectly, but I hope you can understand the text anyway!
