Hey guys! Today, I wanted to make a tutorial based on an artist's worst nightmare, HANDS.

I thought I should share some tips of mine that helped me out through the years!

Keep in mind I'm still learning, so these aren't really pro tips, but I do hope they are helpful anyway.

Lets get started!

First, lets loosen up a bit. Draw some hands, but not super detailed ones. be quick, dont worry about details. Let them be sloppy if they are sloppy, don't worry about anatomy at all. This is just an excersise to prepare and boost some confidence!

To get a grasp on anatomy when starting out, it helps to draw classic gloved cartoon hands. Notice the rubber hose and flowy-ness of the hands. It makes them look lively and express emotion. You can transfer these tricks when drawing more realistic (but lively) hands.

A trick that helps me out, is adding two circles or chunks that represent the pinky and the thumb. I feel like it helps knowing what goes where.

To help with poses, and perspective is drawing fingerless hands. I think it helps out a lot without worrying with fingers getting in the way!

Next tip is try drawing little circles or ovals where you want the tips of the fingers to be, then connect them with a line. When drawing the line, try making it slightly curved instead of straight and erect (unless thats what you want the hand to look like of course)

I think it makes it easier to distinguish where the fingers are.

I hope these tips were useful. sorry the tutorial isn't very long, I didn't feel like diving deep into hand anatomy as I am still learning myself.

But, I hope these help you on your art journey nontheless. I hope you have a swell day! Happy drawing :)
