Drawing a girl using shapes
Introduction
Hello! In this article, I will discuss the steps on how to draw a girl using shapes.
Shapes are useful in creating various drawings. They are one of the basic tools to form different figures and objects.
So, let’s begin drawing using shapes. I hope you will enjoy your drawing process.
Search a reference
Choose a reference or a female character from books or movies based on your preference. In this article, Alice in wonderland is the reference.
Face
First, create separate folders to organize the layers.
Click a new layer folder and name it, “face”.
Click the new raster layer and place it under the face folder.
Choose your preferred skin tone color.
Click the window button, choose your preferred color settings.
You can use the Intermediate color. Fill the larger boxes on the corners with your desired colors. The intermediate colors present a mixture of skin tone colors.
Click the Figure (U).
Under sub tool [Figure], choose Ellipse.
Choose your desired Line/Fill, brush size, etc. under the tool property.
Check the box of the aspect type to create a symmetrical or ideal
circle. Navigate the bar below the aspect type to manipulate the size of the circles.
Start drawing the face using ellipse.
On a new layer, draw circles to make the eye globe.
Align and scale them using scale and rotate.
Use a clip to layer below if you created separate layers to make the parts of the eye globe.
Add a new layer. Name it, “eyebrows”.
Use a curve line to make eyebrows.
Here is the image of the face with the parts of the eyes.
On another layer, choose a brush size.
Draw the mouth using the curve.
Add new layers for the parts inside the mouth. Clip them.
Use an ellipse for the nostrils and the ears.
Remember, you can navigate the aspect type under the tool property to make equal or ideal circles or oblongs.
Size or rotate them using scale and rotate.
Add details like lipstick, blush, and lower lip line using the sub tools of Figure U.
Add more details on the face, if you prefer.
Remember to add a new raster layer if you will add details.
Hair
Add a new layer folder and raster layer. Name it, “ hair”.
Choose a color.
Click the continuous curve and start making the shape of a hair.
Add details, if you prefer.
Neck
Click the new layer folder, then the new raster layer. Name it, “neck”.
Place it below the face.
Choose a color.
Click Figure (U).
Use a Continuous curve. Draw the neck.
Here is the face with a neck.
Clothes
Remember to use a reference to make the clothes.
Click the new layer folder and raster layer. Name it, “clothes”.
On the new layer, draw the collar using a continuous curve.
Keep the collar above.
Add details, if you prefer.
Click another new raster layer.
Draw the chest using the continuous curve.
Draw the skirt using an ellipse or continuous curve.
Add some details.
To draw the sleeves, add a new raster layer. Name it, "sleeves". Use the ellipse. keep the layer below.
Remember to navigate the aspect type in the tool property to create the ideal or equal circles.
Align them.
Limbs
Create a new layer folder. Name it, “Limbs”.
Add new raster layer for the limbs.
Use an ellipse to make the arms, hands, and legs.
You may also use the rectangle if you prefer.
Add a new raster layer. Name it, “fingers”.
Draw the fingers using the ellipse tool and add details.
