Hello everyone! My name is Drawsiree and I've been using Clip Studio Paint for my illustrations for at least 3 years and I love it! They now have a new mode for the tablet app: Simple mode! I'm going to show you how to use the new Simple Mode in the Clip Studio Paint app.

What is SIMPLE MODE?

Simple Mode is an interface that maximizes the use of tablet or mobile device screens. You can use the basic functions needed to create illustrations, as well as other functions you want. This mode is recommended for those creating illustrations for the first time or who want to take advantage of the entire tablet screen.

Easy Mode includes a selection of features that are easy even for digital art beginners, from basic illustration tools to 3D figure drawing, Close & Fill, and Liquify.

Let's get to know the workspace

In Simple Mode, you have access to four main tools: Pencil, Eraser, Bucket, and Eyedropper.

You can swipe left or right on the tool icons to access more tools, such as Brush, Airbrush, Blur, Smudge, and Selection.

By selecting the tool you want to use, you can modify both the size and opacity just by moving the sliders located below the canvas.

And the color? You have the color wheel, color palettes and color sliders where you can modify the hue, saturation and luminosity of a color.

And the best thing is that you can also download the color palettes you prefer from the wide variety that Clip Studio Paint offers.

We'll paint!

Now I want to show you my process when painting my illustrations. Use the mechanical pencil to make the sketch/Lineart of the Illustration.

With the chalk tool, I'm going to paint the entire drawing so I have a single shape.

Using the Snap to Bottom Layer option, I'm going to paint each element of the Illustration without having to leave the main layer.

I chose a purple color for the shadows and then changed the blend mode to multiply and lowered the opacity of the layer a little.

Final result

If you are a person who wants to start drawing digitally, this app is one of the best options since it is easy to use and is cross-platform. The interface is easy to use and doesn't overwhelm you when you see all the options... the same thing happened to me when I started using CSP.

If you are already a veteran using CSP on the PC, I recommend trying the app because it is easy to use and if you feel that it is not complete enough you can always return to studio mode.

That is all for today! I hope you liked it and that you learned something new. If you did, please give it a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel. Thanks for watching and until next time.
