Hello!

This time, we will create a spaceship using things we have at home and combine it with a landscape photo to create an illustration of the spaceship flying.

Click here for the completed image!

What do you think?

Isn't it a very impressive spaceship?

You can easily make a spaceship just by combining familiar things you have at home!

Please watch till the end!

We also publish videos that are easier to understand!

Let's collect the materials

First, let's gather materials around the house to create a spaceship-like silhouette!

I will introduce what I have prepared.

  • Worn out TV remote control

  • Two types of mechanical pencils that I always use

  • broken flashlight

  • game controller

  • Drink holder to attach to the car (maybe)

Were you really surprised by the random things you found at home?

I combined these pieces with cellophane tape and made a (temporary) spaceship!

Take a photo in advance with a composition that looks like it's flying in the sky.

It's okay if your hands are reflected!

I'm fine with cropping the landscape photo of the building.

Combine with landscape photos!

We will combine the completed spaceship with a landscape photo!

I have been photographing buildings with distinctive designs that give a sense of the future.

We will fly a spaceship into the sky part of this image!

Will it really work out? ?

This is a photo of a spaceship that has been cropped appropriately and combined with a landscape photo.

It's now complete! ...I can't say that, so I'll adjust the image to make it look more realistic!

I applied a gray gradation to the spaceship to give a sense of aerial perspective, changed the landscape photo to gray, and used level correction to emphasize the shadows.

In order to create a sense of unity on the screen, the gradation of the sunset was combined using linear burn-in with an opacity of 60%. Since the color tone is monotonous, we will further adjust it using the tone curve from here.

The tone curve makes it even more realistic!

The foreground is lonely, so I'll import the cloud photo I took and add a smoky effect.

Dramatic smoke was created by combining cloud photos with free transformation!

From here we will finish the spaceship!

Finishing the spaceship

Use the color blending tool ``blend brush'' to blur out areas of concern, such as the boundaries of the spaceship's trimmings and the reflections on the Scotch tape.

The white part of the flashlight doesn't blend in with the surrounding design, so I'm going to paint it.

Next, we will put a line of light on the body of the spacecraft.

This will greatly increase the sense of reality.

Add the light from the aircraft with a flat watercolor brush and combine the layers with dodge (luminescence) to make them shine.

I added and adjusted the level correction of a new tonal correction layer to give sharpness to the entire screen and tighten it.

That's all there is to it!

I think we've created a pretty full-fledged spaceship.

I think that the method of actually making a model by combining things you have around the house and compositing photos can be applied not only to spaceships but also to buildings and vehicles such as cars and motorcycles.

You should try it too!

Thank you for reading to the end!
