Introduction

Hello

My name is Itsuki Kasai and I am active as a drawing VTuber.

For those who don't have a scanner today or are lazy to use one,

Let me tell you how to import beautiful line drawings from smartphone photos!

The advantage of this method is that it doesn't matter even if there is a hand shadow in it.

Moreover, if you work on an iPad, there is a theory that you can complete all your tasks with one device.

I'll do it.

Process description

▲ There is also an explanation video

1. Import and duplicate photos

First, import the photo into a working file.

Then duplicate the layer.

You will now have two photo layers.

2. Use the layer effect “Division”

From here, we will process the top side of the duplicated photo layer!

Set the layer effect to "Division".

At this stage, it is OK if the imported photo turns completely white.

3. Apply Gaussian blur

Apply "Gaussian Blur" to the upper photo layer.

・Menu bar > Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur

Then, I think a line drawing will emerge from the completely white photo.

After that, I made sure that the line drawing was clear and that unnecessary things did not stand out.

Please adjust the "blurring range" of Gaussian blur.

After making adjustments, merge it with the photo layer below.

Now, to make the line drawing even clearer,

You can also use “level correction” and “tone curve”!

4. Convert brightness to transparency

Finally, make the white part of the line drawing transparent to make it easier to use as a line drawing.

・Menu bar > Edit > Convert brightness to transparency

-- Finish!!! --

Right!

I tried making an article based on a tips video I made a long time ago.

If it's popular, I'd like to create a new article.

Thank you very much for your understanding.

It was Itsuki Kasai.
