The settings for printing and multi-page exporting introduced in this article cannot be set in Simple Mode. Please switch to Studio Mode to use them.

Using the color profile preview

When working digitally, the screen displays colors in RGB, but data for printing at a print shop or other facility needs to be converted to CMYK.

However, if data created in RGB is directly converted to CMYK, the colors may change and end up duller than the original.

The Color profile preview is a function used to simulate and display the results of color conversion. By using the preview settings, you can check the results of changes you make in real time.

Choose View > Color profile > Preview Settings to display the Color profile preview dialog.

In the Profile for preview section, specify the Color profile, which determines how the data represent colors. When creating CMYK data, please select the color profile specified by your print shop (ICC profile).

The color profile set here will be reflected when you save in CMYK.

Note:

By selecting View > Color Profile > Preview, you can turn the preview function on or off.

Check here for more information on the settings and important points in the Color profile preview dialog box.

Save in CMYK

In Clip Studio Paint, images created or edited in RGB are converted to CMYK when saving.

(When saving in CMYK color in .jpg, .tif, .psd, .psb formats.)

From the File menu, choose Export (Single Layer) and select one of the formats to display the Export Settings dialog box.

Select "CMYK color" from the Expression color in the Export Settings dialog box, and check Embed ICC profile to save.

If a CMYK profile is specified in the Color Profile Preview, that profile will be embedded.

See here for more information on CMYK output.

Check book binding in 3D (EX)

In Clip Studio Paint EX, you can use the 3D Preview for Binding to check the finished state of your work in 3D.

When you select File menu > Export multiple pages > 3D Preview for Binding, a dialog box where you can flip through pages and change the viewing angle will be displayed.

For more information on 3D Preview for Binding, please refer to the User Guide.

Export based on data (EPUB/Kindle/PDF export)

Once you have prepared the work data for the book you want to export, you can export the data according to the service you want to publish it on and the format you want to use it in, such as EPUB data for e-books, comic data for Kindle, or PDF data.

Exporting EPUB (for e-books) data (EX)

Select File menu > Export multiple pages > Export EPUB data. In the Export EPUB data dialog, enter the Title, Author, and other information, and then tap OK to export it.

For more information on exporting EPUB (e-book) data, please refer to the User Guide.

Exporting comic data for Kindle

To export, open File menu > Export EPUB data, and check Export for Kindle format under the Advanced Settings in the Export EPUB data dialog box.

For more about Kindle comics, please refer to this article.

Exporting PDF data

Select File menu > Export multiple pages > .pdf (PDF format).

You can also choose the file format as .pdf (PDF format) from Batch Export.

When the Batch export dialog box appears, specify the page range you want to export and the destination folder.

For more information on exporting PDF data, please refer to the User Guide.
