This article is based on the tablet version of Clip Studio Paint.

The layout of menu commands may vary in the smartphone version.

We will be introducing some useful features in Clip Studio Paint for designing and laying out book covers, flyers, banner images, and more.

Please use Studio Mode to use the features introduced in this article.

Import images that can be updated as File objects

You can link and import images created in other files into your work. Since you can directly import .clip or .psd files, you can update them without having to export them each time you change them.

Furthermore, since the image maintains its original file size, it will not lose quality even if you scale up/down multiple times.

Please refer to this article for more details on how to use file objects.

Aligning and distributing multiple images

When creating a layout for a flyer or banner, you will want to align the height of multiple images and text while keeping the spacing consistent. You can also align them along guidelines, but it is more efficient to use the Align/Distribute palette.

If the Align/Distribute palette is not displayed, open it from the Windows menu.

Please refer to this article for more details on how to use Align/Distribute.

Importing and exporting vector lines

Lines drawn on vector layers in Clip Studio Paint, or vector lines created in vector editing software (drawing software) such as Adobe Illustrator, can be imported and exported in SVG format.

Note:

SVG files exported by Clip Studio Paint only contain line data.

Settings for brush size due to pen pressure, line tapering, brush tip image and anti-aliasing settings are not exported.

Even when you draw with the Effect tool, the lines will be exported using the drawing color and brush size selected when drawing.

SVG vector lines imported into Clip Studio Paint can be used as is, edited, converted into rulers, or used to create selections.

See this article for more information on importing and exporting using the SVG format.
