GOTHIC LOLITA FASHION!
Today I’m gonna talk about the Lolita Gothic fashion! It’s a subgenre of the gothic style and is a combination of Gothic and lolita fashions. The fashion originated in the late 1990s in Harajuku
Outfits !
Here I’ve drawn some different outfits inspired from references found on the internet!
A lot of the time Lolita Fashion uses wide dresses and skirts.
S=Short length
M=Medium length
L=long length
You will mainly see these three lengths the most when looking up Lolita goth fashion, as you can see they all give off a different vibe !
The long length will maybe give a more mature look while the shorter one will give a more innocent look or even kind of childish!
It also depends on how large or skintight the skirt/dress is!
And a characteristic of the Goth Lolita style is that the color palettes of the outfits can vary greatly!
Since This style focuses on both cute and grunge styles the palettes can go from very light to very dark and from grey to saturated like i painted above!
Headwear!
Head-wears play a big part of a Lolita outfit! There are so many different cute hats and headbands that can complete an outfit!
It can be really minimalist to very extra !
I recommend you experience a lot with headbands and gather references because there are so many possibilities!
Shoes and socks!
There’s a broad variety of cute shoes that can fit different outfits, you can go from pumps to oxfords shoes or boots to heels!
The most recurring type of shoes in Lolita fashion are Heels and Platforms!
And with shoes goes socks !
Socks and stockings also differ a lot! They also divide in three lengths: ankle socks , knee socks and high socks.
It’s really fun to experience painting all sorts of socks and then combine them with shoes!
My favorite personally is the combo heels+ knee socks!
Other accessories
As you can see there are other accessories that can complete the look! Maybe a cute bag or a little teddy bear!
Jewelry is also really important when it comes to Lolita outfits so don’t hesitate to add some bling bling!
Makeup!
Mhh~ My favorite part!
You probably can guess at this point that the variety of goth lolita makeup is quite broad!
Since the style mixes both cute and goth it’s easy to imagine all the combinations you can do in terms of colors!
It’s always satisfying to make the makeup match the outfits! And something I like a lot is mixing light palettes with dark palettes! Like the sketch above ! it seems like opposites do attract each others after all~
Make your life easier!
There’s often a lot of details in one outfit like laces and knots.
To buy time when drawing details i recommend you use ribbon brushes.
I’m gonna link down the ones I used !
Thank you!
Well even though this was short I hope it helped you grasp what Lolita fashion was like!
