In this tutorial, I will show you how to use one of my favourite assets in Clip Studio Paint - The Watercolor Marker & Texture set by ×ェ× (Content ID: 1682349). https://assets.clip-studio.com/en-us/detail?id=1682349

This asset emulates the feeling of using real traditional watercolour and gives your art a soft, textured look. This set comes with eight marker brushes, two watercolour brushes two blenders and a texture set. It also comes with an auto-action and two extra brushes.

The eight main brushes come in two different shapes and 'modes'. There's a round, square and triangluar brush and a 'hole punch' brush.

The difference between the 'normal' and 'two colour' brushes is that the normal brush only uses the main colour selected in the pallet. Two colour uses both main and secondary colours in the pallet. The two-colour markers are very useful for making soft gradient washes when rendering skin or hair and I usually use the two-colour brushes as I feel it makes the art 'pop' more.

Here are examples of the blenders that come in this asset set.

The hole punch brushes have a little more texture to them and the milky pen acts like a gel pen for adding highlights/details.

The brushes can be used with or without the texture set that comes with it. It will be in your Downloads folder.

Here is an example of how the brushes look before and after the texture set is added to the canvas.

Dragging the texture set to the canvas creates a folder in the layer section containing all the materials. The folder can be dragged over any layer you wish to have the effect. Any layer above the folder will not be affected. You can tweak it to suit your preferences using the slider.

You can also use this as texture as an auto action, which will also be in your Downloads folder. Drag the file into the auto action section and press the play button to add the uneven watercolour texture to give your art a more realistic watercolour look.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy using these brushes as much as I do!

Special Thanks to ×ェ× for making these amazing brushes!
