Clip Studio Paint has amazing library of 3D models that let you pose your character as well as set up the best shot. It will only be used as a base for proportions and perspective. Do not overthink it.

Before painting or drawing you can always check out websites for inspiration and references. Do not hesitate to research and have a library of similar things you want to draw.

SKETCHING

Always try to design and draw separately from your main drawing. It becomes a lot easier to add that element later. Here I am sketching quick ways of head shapes.

Once you decided on which one you like more you can add it to your drawing.

After head I decided to add design to legs torso and arms.

Quick sketch will keep it loose and simple. Do not overwork it.

REFINING AND ADDING COLOR

Clean up the sketch and add more details where you want your viewer to look.

Less details at the bottom and more details at the top. I do not want the viewer to look at his legs at all. I want attention on his face and arms.

Check your shape and see how it looks without details. Does it read clear? Is it easy to recognize?

After that you can create a shape underneath line art and create a clipping mask for it.

Now we can add highlights and shading. I added a light behind the model.

I used basic gradient maps that come with CSP. You can see a more in depth tutorial on gradient maps in my other tutorial.

BACKGROUND AND FINAL TOUCHES

After our character is done we can add a background to it. I just used a simple 3D scene for a train station from the library.

After you picked the best composition you can blur the background. Add some colors with correction layers. You can also paint some strokes on top to make it less 3D.

After color you can add shadows and color balance to bring it all together.

I added desaturate filter and darkened the foreground. Now it looks cohesive and more finished. I added more red to the eyes to make it more scary :)

Let me know if you have any questions. I hope you learned something :)
