Hi, I'm Chrystian, in this tutorial I will show you the painting sequence of a lion, I hope you like it.

First we do the base stain

In a layer below we begin to add the background.

In this stage we also solve the general shape of the objects on stage, their luminosity and the color palette that we will use.

In a second between the blue and the lion, we add another layer for the background vegetation.

We can add a correction layer for example of luminosity when we want to differentiate the background of the foreground, giving greater luminosity to any of these two, This layer is adjusted to the lower layer. We also have other options such as saturation, curve, levels, etc.

We activate and deactivate the drawing layer to be able to add layers of paint to the base.

Here I began to put the details, you can take your painting in the style you like, from very detailed to something more expressive or impressionistic where the big spots and with expressive gesture are valued, the important thing is to respect the essence of our lion and have fun.

In this video you can see in real time how I am forming the spots, starting with large spots and then adding the smaller ones until I reach specific areas.

I begin to add details of the hair, this is achieved mainly considering the shape of the shadows and then placing the long lights that form the strands

We add finer details, always taking care to work with the colors that correspond to the bright or dark areas.

We work the bottom by combining three tools, a firm brush, a soft brush and optionally a Gaussian blur filter.

And so we have our finished painting.

You can delve into this technique by consulting my other painting tutorials, I also share my brush kit.

Thank you very much for following this tutorial, I hope you find it useful, I will be happy to read your comments, until next time.
