Hello, welcome to this new tutorial where I will show you step by step how I make an anthropomorphic vampire bunny, windows in the Gothic style and pumpkins.

What is anthropomorphism: Anthropomorphism is the attribution of characteristics of human behavior or morphology to other entities such as gods, animals, objects, phenomena, ideas and even to beings from another world where appropriate.

Vampire

A vampire is a legendary creature who bites humans to drink their blood. Once bitten, the victim also becomes a vampire. Still according to legend, if you want to kill a vampire, you have to plant a stake in his heart. The vampire is an immortal being, belonging to the undead subgroup.

Before drawing a vampire, you have to know what are the characteristics that allow people to identify them, whether through physique, clothes, accessories, etc.

Here are some characteristics specific to vampires.

A: large, pointed canines

B: blood

C: a cape

D: elegant clothes

E: a bat

F: red eyes - pale skin - dark circles under the eyes

G: dark or black hair

I also added a coffin and a castle in my illustration

Here is the palette of colors and their shades that I will use for my illustration.

A: sketch. I place the elements of my illustration and use a textured brush.

B: on a new layer, I ink my drawing. I play with full and loose (thickness of the line).

I put my solids. Each color will be put on a separate layer.

On a new layer with clipping mask over my solid, I put a darker color on the right (the light comes from the left) thanks to the G pen, then I soften this shadow slightly with the mixer.

New clipping layer, I am using the airbrush and with a red - orange I put my new color on the left.

New clipping layer in Glow Density mode, I finish by making a few lines on the right with the G pen and a salmon color.

Above, I work with my solid red on the eyes and the scarf

New clipping layer in product mode, I am using the G pen and mixer with several shades of burgundy.

New clipping layer in glow density mode, I use the G pen and the soft airbrush with red in order to give areas of light.

I then work on the rabbit's coat.

On a new clipping layer in product mode, I use the G feather with a gray, place my shadows on the right, and give a few small strokes to give the coat some texture.

On a new clipping layer I use the airbrush with a shade of red in some places (near the ears, under the eyes, above the nose) and with the G pen I mark the underside of the eye with red.

I am now working on the color of the coat.

On a new clipping layer I use various shades of color ranging from brown to mauve with the G nib and the soft airbrush then smooth my result with the blender.

On a new clipping layer in glow density mode, I'm using a red with the pen and the soft airbrush (on the left, the light is coming from this spot.)

I work on the collar of the garment.

New clipping layer in product mode, I use the G pen with black and then I smooth out with the mixer

New clipping layer, I'm using an orange with the soft airbrush on the left of the bezel

New clipping layer in glow density mode, I use orange with the pen and the soft airbrush in order to lay down areas of light.

I work the earth with the brush below and several shades of colors ranging from mocha to black.

I work the coffin.

On a new clipping layer I am using circular watercolor with a dark brown.

New clipping layer in product mode, I work on the wood texture with a brown close to black.

To make the wood ribs, make vertical lines next to each other and occasionally tie a knot. (no need for the lines to be straight, make them a little wobbly with different thicknesses)

New clipping layer in product mode, I am using the airbrush with a very dark brown on the right of the coffin

New clipping layer in glow density mode, I use the airbrush with a light brown on the left in order to put a touch of light.

Now I'm making the clouds behind the character.

I use brushes, below with a gray and dark gray (drawing towards the brown) to put a first shadow.

Then I use special cloud brushes (below) with black and orange.

Premier brush

second brush

And a tutorial I did some time ago to learn how to make pretty skies

For moon, new layer in add mode (glow) for moon, new layer in add mode (glow) (don't put it in clipping mask.) I use soft airbrush with orange to give a halo and light to the moon. I use the soft airbrush with orange to give the moon a halo and light.

Then I color my line with the soft airbrush tool and red on a new clipping mask layer. (above that of the line)

I add an atmosphere to my drawing. This will give an aged effect.

On top of all the layers, on a new layer in overlay mode, I use the soft airbrush tool with orange

I finish adding stronger shadows with realistic feather blue G on a layer in product mode.

I finish modifying the final aspect of my illustration thanks to the correction layers.

Below is a tutorial I did to learn how to use the different correction layers.

Here is my finished illustration, I hope I was able to teach you some tips.

Gothic architecture

I wanted to give you a little sub-tutorial on some characteristic elements of Gothic architecture with some sketches to explain certain terms and techniques typical of this architectural movement.

Here are some pictures of cathedrals near my home.

Gothic art or French art is an artistic period spanning around four hundred years, which developed from the second part of the Middle Ages in France and then in Western Europe. He uses new techniques, different from those used by Romanesque art: the pointed arch, the flying buttress, the intersecting ribs and stained glass. These new techniques make it possible to obtain a high ceiling and to let in light.

The first three images are windows typical of the Gothic movement. The combinations are unlimited and you can use them as a cover (background) on some of your illustrations

1 and B: the pointed arch is an acute-angled arch-shaped ogive.

A: the semicircular arch, in architecture, is a semicircular arch without break.

C: the flying buttress is a structure of Gothic churches of the Middle Ages. It is a construction outside the building. The flying buttress is associated with an interior pillar of the building on which the ribbed vault rests.

D: a keystone or keystone is a stone placed in the axis of symmetry of an arch or vault to block the keystones or voussoirs.

E: crossing of two arches forming the framework of a Gothic vault.

The central idea of the ribbed cross is to make arches that do not rest directly on the walls, but on the diagonally arranged arches, which cross in the center on a key and rest on the top of the pillars. This technique allows large windows to be opened to let light into the building.

A rose window is a geometric figure in the shape of a circle. It is used in particular as decoration, being composed of stained glass windows.

Tip: If you want to make symmetrical shapes. You can use the symmetric rule.

And here are some materials present on clip studio assets.

Draw a Halloween squash

The term squash designates several species of plants of the Cucurbitaceae family.

Squash, also known as pumpkins and pumpkins, are endowed with an astonishing genetic variability, which results, in the fruits, by innumerable shapes and colors and also a great diversity of sizes.

The pumpkin is a symbol of Halloween and as it approaches, we dig it to put a lantern inside and with the flesh of the fruit we can make delicious soups.

Here is a penciled tutorial of a few pumpkins / pumpkins and pumpkins with different shapes.

1: draw an oval shape

2: adding two half circles on either side of our oval.

3: addition of the peduncle and the sides of 3/4 of the fruit.

4: addition of the rear parts.

Here are some sketches with different expressions.

Have fun, change the shape of the mouth, the eyes, add a nose, eyebrows.

I do my line, do not hesitate to play on the thickness of your features.

I put my flat colors.

After colorization, here are the results obtained.

I show you the coloring steps for the first two pumpkins below.

New clipping mask layer on top of the pumpkin orange, I am using the G feather with a first shadow (the light is coming from the left, keep this in mind for the placement of your shadows.), I soften the result with the mixer.

New clipping layer in product mode, I use diluted watercolor to put my second shadows and give the fruit a start of texture.

I finish with a third shadow on a new clipping layer in product mode, use a darker shade than the previous ones, and use circular watercolor.

On a new clipping layer, I use an orange and a red with the shadow airbrush tool to soften it all up.

On a new clipping layer in glow density mode I use lighter colors to lay my lights down using the G pen and airbrush

I color my line with a clipping layer on top of my line layer and I use the shadow airbrush.

Colorizing the line softens the lines and harmonizes the design.

On a new layer in shine density mode on top of all the others (no clipping mask) I use an orange and airbrush shadow.

It gives the drawing some sparkle

I color the fruit stalk with a darker green, the Pen tool and a blender (below)

I finish with light thanks to a layer in shine density mode and the pen 2 tool

My illustration is now complete, I have done the same with all the pumpkins.

Pumpkin pattern

Approaching the Halloween party, I created a design with my pumpkin illustration. The background is transparent to allow you to put the color of your choice.

To create a pattern with your illustrations, I advise you to follow this excellent tutorial.

Thanks everyone for following my tutorials, hope this has helped you. I wish you a happy Halloween soon.
