Nice to meet you, it is a pine selling illustrations at PIXTA.

This time, I would like to introduce two clip studio tools that are usually used to draw stock illustrations efficiently.

Even a lot of default! Brush tools

As a designer, vector data that does not deteriorate the image even if scaled up and down was easy to use and convenient, so I'm working on all of my materials with Illustrator in Adobe.

Because Illustrator uses paths to create shapes, it tends to have a flat, graphical atmosphere like the illustration above.

Therefore, a clip studio that I started to use because I wanted to create illustrations and text materials with a slightly more hand-drawn feeling.

The figure above is an illustration depicting the tastes divided by the initial recording [Pen] tool → [Marker] → [Sign Pen] and the “Shinpen” downloaded with CLIP STUDIO ASSETS.

Even if the same beer is thin and drawn with a single line, it will look like casual, and like a spine pen, the line where the strength of the bleeding is clear becomes an atmosphere like a pub.

Both are hand-painted like analog illustrations.

There are many other brush tools available in the initial recording tool alone, and you can make detailed settings according to your preferences, such as [Tool Properties], [Deep Out] and [Scattering Effect] of each brush, so you can draw the theme or taste you want to draw We use according to.

We are not good at overcoming! Symmetrical industrial products etc. with a symmetrical ruler

It is a hand-drawn illustration with a strong feeling of "I'm drawing" compared to the graphic work of Illustrator, but symmetrical things such as industrial products etc ..! Many people are not good at this. (Is me!)

Illustrator can draw only half and make it with "Inverted copy of path", but it takes time and practice to take shape properly if it is hand-painted work.

At that time I use [Symmetric ruler].

Select [Shape] tool → [Symmetry ruler] and pull the guide in the middle to make it symmetrical, you can work as if you are drawing while reflecting in the mirror.

In other words, if you draw in half, the ruler will make the shape together as it is, so half the time! It is. Great value!

Kitchen utensils such as cups and pots, interiors such as sofas and desks, home appliances such as refrigerators and washing machines.

There are a lot of turnings of symmetrical ruler in drawing stock material.

Of course, not only industrial type, you can also use it for frontal people, buildings such as buildings, and icons such as hearts.

Furthermore, although only one guide is drawn this time, geometric patterns and races can be drawn by increasing the lines to be symmetrical.

Export as JPG → register as vector data!

And, the illustration drawn up to here can be registered as stock material just by selecting and saving JPEG as the file type from the [File] menu → [Save].

However, as I mentioned earlier, I want to convert the saved jpg into Illustrator so I convert it into a path with [Object]-> [Live Trace]-> [Create and Extend] because I want to convert it into vector data for ease of use for the purchaser. . ※ In the case of Illustratore CS5

After that, make a painted part on Illustrator and save it with eps. ! (See thumbnail)

If you want to paint in the clip studio, be sure to divide the layers and save JPG for each layer → do a live trace!

Summary

It is said that "large number of registrations is important" to increase sales in stock illustration.

So, it is very important to have a sense of work efficiency, that is, how to draw high-quality work without the cost of time.

I also love drawing by analog, so I used to scan hand-drawn illustrations into vector data before I used Clip Studio.

I also used ink, so I put out the chopsticks and prepared the ink juice-draft-fresh paper-dried ink of the ink-tidy up. From there, scan, adjust, layout. . . Well, it just takes time.

It came to be completed only with digital work, and the time was shortened considerably.

This time, I talked about the efficiency of the stock, but despite the fact that I had enough meetings to work as an illustrator, some of the troubles such as "unexpected retake" and "sudden taste change" sometimes appeared come.

If it is analog, everything is redrawn from ichi. . . Even at that time, digital software will recover with minimal effort, but I'm glad.

As mentioned above, I have introduced only two tools that are mainly used to draw stock illustrations, but in addition to those that are said to be difficult when drawing illustrations such as [Perth ruler] and [3d model] The more tools you will follow and the more you know, the more interesting you are.

Whether you are satisfied with analog work or want to draw better, if you add it to your regular stock work, you will see a different landscape. I feel like that.
