Illustration production using processing filters
Hello everyone.
In this tutorial, we will show you how to use Clip Studio Paint's illustration-like filter function to make your photos look like illustrations.
1. Prepare a photo
Let's prepare a favorite piece.
When using the illustration filter function,
・ Shadow is clear.
-The target color is vivid.
I think that is suitable.
This time, I will introduce a picture of the flower I took.
Canvas: 1200pixel × 1000pixel
Resolution: 72 pixel / inch
Mode: RGB color
2. Duplicate the image
Right-click on the photo layer and use [Duplicate Layer (D)] to duplicate it.
Since the bottom layer is for comparison with the finished product, it is not used for processing. (Encouragement to hide)
Finish using the second and third.
3. Use illustration filter function
Select the second layer. (The others should be hidden.)
Click [Filter (I)] on the menu bar, and select [Illustration (I)] from [Effect (E)].
The menu bar is displayed.
In the illustration filter,
"Colors and lines"
"Line only"
"Color only"
Three types of processing are possible.
Example) "Color and line"
Example) "Line only"
Example) "Color only"
Let's start with “color only”.
You can adjust the color from the values in the three bars below the menu bar.
I tried to raise the values of “Color smoothness” and “Color gradation”.
Especially the area around the leaves was painted like a marker.
Click OK when the adjustment is complete.
Next, select the third layer, select the illustration-like filter in the same way, and then use “Line Only” to process it.
The line can be adjusted with the above five bars.
Since the line drawing part is used for light and shadow, the opacity and density of the line are slightly increased.
Click OK when the adjustment is complete.
This is what happens when two layers are stacked.
Add a new layer and clip to the third layer (a layer that has been processed with lines only).
I feel that the color of the flower line is too dark.
Color is put on the layer clipped by airbrush.
It became quite an illustration.
Then add light and shadows with a brush.
Thank you for watching to the end.
I hope this tutorial will help you.
