RockoMoran

Hello, my name is Rocko, I am a photographer and I like to redraw on my photos. In this tutorial I will show you step by step how to redraw any photo and turn it into a beautiful black and white image. Create an animated character to make the tutorial and video speed painting more fun, if you like you can propose a name in the comments for the creature that appears in the video.

- Speed Paint animado!

Who said that the tutorials had to be boring?

Create a 5 minute video where you can see the complete process step by step explained by a green creature and the workflow at full speed !.

If you want me to make a tutorial teaching how to create a character in clip studio and animate it just like my video, leave a LIKE and ask for it in the comments and I will create a new tutorial explaining it from scratch and step by step.

1- Create a new canvas and make a sketch.

To create a new canvas we will go to file> New> Illustration> OK.

1.1- Sketch on the photo.

I chose this photo that I took a while ago, because it seems ideal for this example.

You choose the image you like the most and drag it to the "layers" window and reduce the transparency to 50% to better see our lines, then create a "vector layer" above the photo to create our first sketch.

2 - Entity

For the inking we will use the same tools as for the sketch, "G - Pen" and "Maru pen" we will create a vector layer on top of our sketch and we will do the work of lines carefully and with patience, once finished we can go to the filling and shadows.

3 - Fill and Shadows

To Fill our drawing we must create a new Rasterized layer below our line work, in it we will place our color.

First we will activate our line work by clicking on the layer panel, then we will go to the Auto selection tool (w) and then click on the part we want to fill, then we activate the fill layer by clicking on the layer panel, and we look for the bucket (fill) with some color and paint our selection.

3.1 - Shadows.

To create our shadows we will use our original photo as references, paying attention to the direction of light in our photo, and where we have more light or shadows.

Creating a new raster layer, we will copy the shadows with the G pen (in my case), you experiment because there really are many tools to create shadows and they all give great styles!

4 - Filling Materials

To add effects we will use the materials that clip studio has by default and they are very useful, we click on our vector lines layer to select it, then we will go to the auto select tool (w) and we will select the part that we want to fill with effects, it only remains choose the pattern or texture that you like the most among the materials to complete our illustration.

My green character is looking for a HELP NAME!

This green character that you create for this tutorial has no name, will accompany us in our next tutorials and I would like you to leave a name in the comments and if you want more tutorials of this style!
