Hi, in this tutorial I will show how we can make different types of eyes and the details that make it look different depending on how we want the character to be.

types of eyes

We will first look at the different types of eyes there can be, such as eyes that look evil and those that look naive.

In this first image we can see that in the first row the eyes look a bit mysterious or evil, while in the other they look more cheerful or naive.

The difference between the eyes is that some look straighter and others rounder, making some look more serious, crazy, happy, sad, etc.

But this can change depending on the details we do, and in this tutorial I will show you the difference in how the eyes look when doing different details.

In the image above eye number 1 looks calculating or serious, eyes that are straighter tend to look that way.

Number 2s have the sparkle in their eyes and they tend to appear friendly or shy.

The number 3 has the upper part up and that makes it appear aggressive or serious but strong-willed.

The number 4 It can be the same as the number 2 but the top line goes down which makes it look shy or introverted.

Number 5 may be the same as number 1 but it seems more serious.

The number 6 has an aspect of kindness and seriousness at the same time.

The number 7 has an aspect of superiority and seriousness due to the slightly raised eyelid.

The number 8 has an aspect of naivety but at the same time seems introverted.

1. Pupils

The pupils are the circles inside the iris and these can change the appearance of the eye depending on the size or the way we make them.

In number 1 the pupil is small and that makes the eye look a bit crazy or psychotic.

In number 2, the pupil is white and this detail gives the eye another aspect, as macabre.

In number 3 the pupil is bigger, its appearance looks more elegant and pleasant.

2. Iris

By changing the size of the iris the eye can have a different appearance that makes the eye feel more serious or more playful.

In number 1 the iris is large and you see a bit of anger or mystery.

In number 2 you see a bit of elegance in her eyes.

In number 3 I changed their position a bit moving them down and the upper part of the iris would be noticed so that they would look playful.

3. Eyelids

The eyelid is an important part of the eye, as drawing it in different ways changes the appearance of the eye.

The number 1 has an appearance of seriousness.

Number 2 looks elegant.

The number 3 has an aspect of superiority.

4. Lower eyelid

If we draw dark circles or lines of expression, the eyes are seen with more depth and seriousness.

Other details

In each issue I changed something different from the first eye to make the difference in its appearance noticeable.

In number 2 I changed the eyelid, in the first eye on the left I put them lower and in the one on the right I put them higher.

On number 3 on the left side I made the lower eyelid line thinner and on the right side I made it thicker.

In number 4 I changed the size of the iris, in the eyes on the left side I made them bigger and on the right side I made them smaller.

Eyebrows

Another important part of the appearance of the eyes would be the eyebrows, although they would also be part of the expressions of the eye such as anger, happiness, sadness, etc.
