A mysterious poster-style illustration with flowers and planets in the background
"If I were to make a movie with my characters, what would the story be? What would the title be?"
So I created it with the themes of "space" and "life" in mind, with movie posters and booklets in mind.
Title: Gliese 710 Descent with modification
Story: Based on the idea of "coevolution of life" proposed by Charles Darwin, it's the story of a man and a woman who travel to the star Gliese 710, which is approaching the solar system... or something like that.
<About the letters>
I hand-designed it to have the unique font taste of Alphonse Mucha, the painter of "flowers and design." *
<About the hair>
As you can see in the making-of video, it took a lot of trial and error to draw the spread-out green hair... I wanted to make it fluffy, but it didn't work out, so I redrawn it many times.
When painting, I made the center brighter and the edges darker, keeping in mind the light source.
<About the background>
I made all the flowers and planets in the background myself.
For the flowers, I processed flowers photographed during field work into an illustration-like style, and for the planets, I photographed the marbled pattern when mixing milk with coffee, and modeled it into a 3D planet... that's how I created it.
However, even though I put various flowers and planets in the background, the half-hearted processing made it look quite cluttered, so I decided to lower the brightness, saturation, and transparency to make the girl in the center
stand out.
