Loop Animation of Slurping Udon
This article introduces how to create a loop animation of slurping udon.
・This is a simple animation made with just two drawings: a character drawing and an udon drawing.
・It's made in 24 frames (1 second) so it can be created even with the Pro version (Please refer to the YouTube making-of video as well).
Create the Udon Drawing
① Draw udon on a 1080x1080px canvas and convert the layer type to an image material layer.
② In Tool Property → Tiling, set it to "Vertical only", move the layer up by about half, and rasterize it.
③ Draw in the broken udon so it connects, then convert it back to an image material layer.
④ Change the canvas size to 1080x4320px, set Tiling to "Vertical only", and export with a transparent background.
Animation Editing
① Create a new animation canvas (1080x1080px, 24 frames).
② Import the character drawing you prepared beforehand and the udon image you just created (adjust the udon to the size of the mouth, chopsticks, and bowl).
③ Go to Window → Timeline and enable keyframes for the udon layer.
④ Make sure the current layer is 1, then add a keyframe.
⑤ Move to frame 24, move the udon layer as far up as possible, and add a keyframe (the udon will move when played).
⑥ To make it a loop animation, finely adjust the position of the udon layer at frame 24 while referring to the image in frame 1.
Import the pre-drawn character and udon images.
Add keyframes (the udon will move when played).
Finely adjust the position of the udon layer at frame 24.
