With Clip Studio, you can publish your own brush materials and 3D materials to Clip Studio Assets.

Here, we will cover how to use the multi-material publishing function of the material catalog.

Note:

For details on how to publish a single material, please refer to the following.

What is a material catalog?

A material catalog is a function for publishing a collection of materials at once onto Clip Studio Assets.

When creating material collections, we create a new material catalog and then add materials to it.

[1] Preparing the data

The following data is necessary to create a material catalog. Please prepare this in advance.

■ Materials data

Prepare your user created Clip Studio series materials data. The maximum number of materials that can be added to a material catalog is 200.

For details on how to create your own materials, please refer to the following.

“Let’s create Materials!"

"How to Set Up 3D Materials"

· Maximum file size for uploading is 2 GB. Even if the number of materials is less than 200, if the files exceed 2GB, you may not be able to upload the data.

· A maximum of five 3D materials (character/object) can be added to any material catalog. As long as it is within the 2GB limit, other kinds of materials can be added to the material catalog in addition to those five 3D materials.

Note:

Please prepare any material information in advance before creating a material catalog. When materials are added to a material catalog, their information will be imported from each material.

■ Thumbnail image

You can change the material catalog's thumbnail. Please set the thumbnail to an image that conveys the content of the material catalog. If nothing is set, an image displaying the words "No Image" will be shown in its place.

Acceptable file formats for thumbnail images are as follows.

· File format: JPEG

· Size: 240 x 240 pixels (fixed)

· File capacity: Within 1 MB

[2] Creating a new material catalog

Create a material catalog using Clip Studio. Tap [Manage materials]

Tap the + on the material catalog list.

When the New Material Catalog dialog box appears, enter the material’s name and tap OK.

A new material catalog is then created in the material catalog list.

[3] Adding materials to the material catalog

From the tree view, select the folder that contains the material you wish to add to the material catalog.

Drag and drop the material you want to add to the material catalog from the material catalog list.

From the material catalog list, tap the title of the material catalog. When the content of the material catalog displays, confirm that the material added is present.

Note:

Materials added to the material catalog will be duplicated as they are added. The title of the material will then become “material name - name of material catalog".

The duplicated material cannot be published as a single material or added to another material catalog.

The original material added to the material catalog can be published as a single material or added to another material catalog.

[4] Setting material catalog information

Input material catalog details. In addition to Title, Thumbnail, Explanation/Example of use and Category, you can also change the display order of the materials.

Select the material you wish to edit and tap Manage.

When you select Publish to Assets, a screen for setting up the material catalog information is then displayed. Input the necessary information.

For material catalogs, an additional setting called Material setting will appear in addition to the normal material settings.

You can rearrange the order in which materials are displayed, or divide the materials into categories.
