Out of the Tips posted between February 3, 2020 to March 2, 2020, the writers of the following will be rewarded a cash prize or GOLD!

The themes were "Speed Painting," "How to use vector layers," and "How to draw flowers and plants." In speed painting, many articles had YouTube videos that showed the artist’s creation process with tips on saving time using convenient functions and materials of Clip Studio. The vector layers category saw well-explained articles in which you could accurately learn about the basic functions of vectors and how to use them in your work. As for how to draw flowers and plants, we had an abundance of Tips showing how to use decoration brushes and photo references to easily create plant life, many of which we also wanted to try out for ourselves! Submissions for the next Tips of the Month have already started! We’re looking forward to your entries!

Video Award

  1. Check out this two-minute video introducing the basics of how to achieve smooth, clean lines using vector layers. It covers all the steps needed to master this essential process in just two minutes: layer creation, pen adjustments, line drawing, and vector erasing!
  2. Learn how to draw realistic looking trees using high-resolution photographs as textures. The narration and subtitles provide detailed explanations of the functions and tools used for drawing that are easy to understand. We also downloaded the Assets material shown in the tutorial and tried it out for ourselves. This Tips made us want to draw some trees!
  3. This tutorial shows how to draw multiple types of trees, grass, and flowers. Both the article and the video describes brush and layer settings, but the video voiceover makes it even easier to follow along and understand. If you want to watch the video in any language other than English, display subtitles, select auto-translate, and choose the language you wish them to be translated too from the list.
  4. This Tips covers how to capture the features of flowers and plants from reference photos and still life subjects. The artist demonstrates how skills learned from traditional painting can be applied to digital painting, a process that even beginners can easily learn from. Their video style is also equally entertaining.
  5. Everything is explained in an easy-to-understand way, especially in the video. The artist covers the many ways to set and work with vectors, which can be overwhelming at first. Along with showing how to make detailed adjustments, it also includes clever ways to use vectors. You can naturally learn how vectors work through this amazing video.

  1. This watercolor illustration Tips tutorial is full of traditional painting techniques. All of the color settings, sizes, and painting methods are covered in detail in the articles using animated gifs. There is also an accompanying speed painting video that shows the painting process, which is a must-see for those wanting to reproduce the same kind of watercolor effect.

  7. Check out this article to get your start with Speed Painting! It offers many techniques for balancing speed and accuracy, and covers both character and landscape painting, so it’s sure to be useful for anyone.
  8. This tutorial carefully explains how to draw a flower first by drawing its structure, and then its vectored line art, coloring, and final details. It also covers the process of adjusting a line drawing to its surrounding colors, which is a technique that can be used outside of botanical art.
